Classifying Plants
All living things on the earth can be put into 5 categories:
These are called Kingdoms. Of course you have heard of the Animal Kingdom, but have you heard of the Bacteria Kingdom or the Plant Kingdom?
We are going to look at the Plant Kingdom. What makes a plant a plant and not an animal or a bacteria?

Scientists love to classify, or organize things into groups. This is how they classify all the different kinds of plants. They also classify animals, bacteria, and even fungi, into groups.
So next time you see a corn plant growing, don't just see it as a plant.
See it as a Plant > a plant with seeds > a seeded plant with flowers > a Monocot.
