Today we learned how to log in to Blogger and create and customize our new student blogs. If you missed it or just want to see it again, check out the video below:
A blog, or web log, is simply an online journal where entries are posted on the web. Writers use a website, like Blogger or Livejournal, to create blog and write in it. Their readers can then comment on their posts and interact with the author. Over the past month, the students in our classroom have been co-writing a classroom blog that talks about everything we do in the classroom. The students take turns writing about our day, and then we post the entry online. Other students in our classroom can read the entries online and write comments on them. We've also been practicing something called "netiquette," which just means how to properly act when you are write online: Now that we've already had a little practice, it's time for us to all have our own student blogs. Just like in our classroom blog, we will be using the website Blogger.com. The best part about using Blogger is that it's a Google website, which means you can just use your g-mail and password to log in!
