MassDefinitions
Mass - the amount something weighs grams (g) - a unit of measurement for mass Using a Pan BalanceAt school, we use a Pan Balance to measure the weight (in grams) of objects.
1. Put the object you want to measure (a tennis ball, a pencil, cup) in one side of the balance. 2. Add gram weights into the other side until both pans are equal. 3. Count how many grams you had to add. This is the weight of your object! Here is a virtual pan balance that you can use to measure the weight of an apple, a book, and a bowling ball.
